I want one. Simple as that, will still keep the KJ since its great for my dogs, and I have lots of money into to it. I want a decent CJ for those summer days. What years should I look at? Heres an 81 I saw/love

I'd suggest an '86. Last year for the CJ, and usually the best equipped. Kind of what they modeled the Wrangler Rubicon after when it came out.
If my wife wasn't disabled, I'd be in one now. Don't get me wrong, I like the creature comforts of the KJ, but I like the AMC utilitarian feel.

Here's a decent looking stocker:

Depending on where you live, look for one with a hardtop, they get breezy in the winter, I know, I had one.

I think the 86 is "too new" for me :) I wont be driving it in the winter, I only really want a beater for the summer, something along the lines of the green one you showed me, but without all the extra goodies like glass pack exhausts etc ha ha. I really like the green one I posted, paint looks new and professional and the tires/rims are brand new too. Just cant justify spending 4k on another truck. I want one around 2k that I can really kick around.
