Hi everyone!

I had a 'groaning' noise coming from the front end when I would go over larger bumps. Brought it in to the mechanic, and they said the Upper Control Arm (UPA) bushings were pushing through and needed to be replaced.

I had the UPA Bushings replaced a couple of weeks ago. Since then, the same noise has returned, and the steering seems to be a bit 'loose' ever since the work was done.

Anyone have this happen to them? Could it be something else? Getting tired of shelling out lots of money....

spray the sway bar bushings with silicone spray, see if that takes care of the noise
If not spray the UCA bushings and try again.
If they were installed right should be no noise
wonder if they tightened them with the weight on them or hanging?

it may need aligned as well. The castor could of changed making the steering feel looser.

Did they align it after they did the bushings? I wouldn't think the bushings would be bad. My bet is that you are hearing the sway bar bushings like Tom said.

I get the same noise. Only happens in the cold/wet weather though. So I've been ignoring it for over 2 years now.

spray the sway bar bushings like mentioned and you won't have to hear the noise.
Used have had an older guy in the old neighborhood come by every fall so I could use that "magic " stuff on his bushings .
I spray mine every oil change and never have any noise and have 165,000 on it

I'll try the sway bar bushings, never even thought of that.

There was an alignment done after the replacement of the UPA bushings (at least I paid for one... lol). Steering feels loose to me, but maybe that's the way it's actually supposed to be. Just odd that I've owned 5 different vehicles and this is the first time I've felt anything like that

Make sure the arms are tight as mentioned and try Tom's suggestion so he stops bugging you :smokin:
Where in Ottawa are you? I'm in Orleans
