That would be the easiest and cheapest way for sure.....

Don't know why anyone would want a manual anyway.......

Automatic is better for driving and wheeling..... :imo:

Had both over the years in different types of vehicles and a manual gets to be a pain in the neck depending on were most of ones driving is...

Only time I would even think about a manual is if I really liked the vehicle a lot and there was no other option other than a manual.

You would need a manual transmission compatible with your year plus sensors for your year on the trans (if connectors changed...IDK if they did)
Manual trans flywheel, pressure plate, clutch disc, master and slave cylinder, line, pilot bearing, throwout bearing
Complete engine/trans wiring harness
Manual trans PCM (engine computer)
Manual trans pedal assembly
Manual trans tunnel shifter boot plate, shifter boot
Manual trans ignition lock assembly

And more time than it's worth.

Likely will need a new rear drive shaft too.

New front shaft also and if you have the 242 select trac t-case that must go also as it does not work well behind a manual and why it was never offered behind a manual trans.

I was figuring that also, but wasn't sure what transfer case he has. :signs8:

242 works great behind an ax5 and ax15 in an xj, so I am not sure where you get that opinion

Yeah as long as you do not use the fulltime option it works,in fulltime it creates drivability issues with the clutch and why it was never offered behind a manual trans in the 1st place.

The action of the clutch being disengaged can create slip between input and output....if you shift slow as hell.

I used fulltime all the time in my xj with ax15. Never had an issue, not once.
