2004 liberty with factory tow package. I found the 20 amp fuse #19 was blown on the inside fuse panel. Fuse underhood is good. My trailer only has running lights, no stop or turn. Trailer lights work fine on other vehicles. Could it be the taillight bulbs or the 7 to 4 pin adapter? I searched all the trailer threads here and came up short. Thanks!

Check the trailer bulbs. Look over the trailer wiring for abrasion points that might be grounding the yellow or brown wires. Put a new fuse in and see if the left, or right turn signal pops it. The little plug in testers are great for knowing if the problem is on the Jeep or trailer end.

4 pin connector wire colors:
white......ground
brown......tail lights and tag
yellow......left and stop
green.......right and stop

5 pin adds:
blue.........electric brake

6 pin adds:
blue..........electric brake
red............auxiliary

7 pin connector wire colors:
white.........ground
red.............left and stop
brown........right and stop
green.........tail lights and tag
blue............electric brake
black..........battery charge
yellow........auxiliary

Source is "Boater's Pocket Reference". Just helped my neighbor get his blinking lights working. The Jeep end of his wiring was all wrangled up... still is but the lights work. Drives me crazy he won't rip the horrible mess out and do it right. He beered me with a twelve pack.

Dude, I just had this problem.

It was nothing wrong other than corrosion. $4.99 corrosion cleaner and water - cleaned all the connections and everyting worked perfectly. Must do all the connections.

I had the exact same symptom.

Seen that as common symptom as well, brake cleaner works real nice on corrosion as well, but often times and I haven't fully studied the fuses on the Liberty in full from 02-07 yet but many times as I have seen. That there will be independent fuses for Trailer Lights, Trailer Brake Lights/Turn Signals which could be a possible issue as well. So I will throw that out there as a maybe.
