Hey guys. Im wondering if any of you guys have had your jeeps Timing belt replaced, and if this improves the efficiency of your vehicle? I read that the timing belt synchronizes the opening and closing of the intake and exhaust valves of your cars engine, making it function properly. Supposedly you need to have it either adjusted or replaced after a certain amount of miles. I could be wrong. Just looking for a response, because my dad randomly asked me about it last night.

if you have an 02 (in signature) with a 3.7l it has no belt just 3 timing chains \:D/ that should be good for the life of the motor. But if you have the 2.4 l gas it does have a belt 8-[ . i might be wrong but i think the belt change interval is 100,000 miles. what motor do you have?

3.7L - Timing Chain. Doesn't need to be replaced.
2.4L - Timing Belt. 60-100,000 Mile Intervals
2.8L (D) - Timing Belt. Grr. Oh boy had I known this....... (banghead)
2.5L (D) - Same as 2.8L engine.
