tick from lifter?

Hi all,

I've been reading through a lot of threads here because I've been having a lot of problems with my 02 Liberty. You guys are awesome! One thing I can't figure out is this tick:

I'm thinking a lash adjuster problem...

I just had someone replace a valve spring after it pretty much blew up one day and now this noise only started after that. It almost seems to get quieter with accel. Any ideas are helpful. Thanks.

It ticks at the same volume all the time, speeds up with engine, etc. I have also noticed a bit of power loss and it eats up fuel more quickly (although I also have a minor exhaust leak).

Anybody?

I'm not an engine expert. But one question that I have is why do you have to rev so much to get it to move that slowly? Is that the way it's always been?

No, that there just boils down to poor use of the clutch.
