Howdy All,

Quackers, our 2009 KK, has 132K miles on it. We have owned it now for almost 2 years. So far so good and it runs smooth and is very dependable! I am interested to know what others have experienced regarding the life expectancy of the lash adjusters and timing chain tensioners. I noticed that Quackers used to have a slight tick that was only noticeable at idle. After running a can of ATS 505 CRO before an oil change the tick went away. I can't confirm that the tick was due to a lash adjuster or possibly a timing chain tensioner that perhaps was plugging up with carbon and not being pumped up with oil. I know if Quackers sits for a week without driving, I can hear the slight tick come back for a second or two upon start up and then it quickly goes away once oil pressure is achieved. Maybe that is normal?
I bought Quackers from the original owner who had every oil change and service done per the owners manual performed by the dealer he purchased it from. I have all the service records (19 Pages) to prove it. You can't find many vehicles with better service records! I was lucky to find a vehicle with such an impeccable service history which was a primary reason for purchasing it. With that said, what is the typical mileage I can expect before I need to change out the lash adjusters and timing chain tensioners? I have watched You Tube Videos of 3.7's needing lash adjusters at 120,000 miles. Who knows what the maintenance history was for those. I'm thinking of replacing the lash adjusters and rocker arms this winter while my daughter is on Christmas break for a peace of mind. Am I overthinking this?
