It has been quite a while since I have been on the forum and thought that I would post an update. Last April I did head gaskets on the KK. I was getting a misfire in the number 2 cylinder and eventually found coolant in the #2. I was in a hurry and didn't get the heads checked. Jeep ran great for a year, but the gasket blew again this spring. So I tore back into it again this spring and had the heads checked. Shop ended up taking .005 off the the heads and the KK is back on the road. The heater has never worked great, and this spring i could smell coolant while the heater was running. I decided that it was time to dig in and get the heater core done. I wasn't looking forward to it, but it is not as bad as one may think. It did take about 6 hours but was fairly strait forward and not all that difficult.
Current status- at 197k and pretty sure the TIPM is slowly going out as my rear wiper and Hazards are inop. My mirrors adjust randomly, and i had to disconnect the horns as they have a mind of their own and decide to go off at the most inopportune times(including: all hours of the night with key out, randomly down the highway and most unfortunate behind a sheriff at a stoplight). Recently purchased a 2022 Rubicon Wrangler as the wife has little faith in the KK, but it will be sticking around and has has been dubbed the Heep. It needs some new axle seals and the TIPM is on the list, But it is going to have to prove itself worthy with some trouble free miles before I pull the trigger
