I need a new tensioner for my 2003 KJ Sport 3.7 L, 4WD.
I read thru the tensioner threads here and people like these:
Dayco 89254
Gates 39120
Will either of those fit?
Are they equal quality?
Thanks!

Either would work fine, I'd just get whichever is easiest to get.

I tried the dayco and it was junk. The belt tension caused the thing to be pulled off center. Where the thing pivots, it evidently wasn't strong enough to resist being pulled sideways.

Went with a mopar and its doing great.

The OEM Mopar you cant go wrong with.
For convenience, I went gates tensioner, and if you need a new tensioner, install a new belt at the same time!
