I have a 2003 liberty sport V6 5spd 4wd. Recently it has started to surge under hard acceleration above 3300 rpm. It is as if you are letting off throttle and then flooring it again. My idle and gas mileage is unchanged and at lower rpms runs as well as ever. I have to cross several steep mountains for work and sometimes have to pass other vehicles so this is becoming an issue. I was wondering if it is fuel filter related or fuel injector related or something else? My first step is to change fuel filter but don't want to go changing parts if someone more experienced has encountered this before. Please advise.
