It may be the infamouse 42rle transmission thump you're referring to. All of us seem to have it, but it's not really a problem.

I got one that does it too, but it does it under load, braking or not, just a slight thudding, well more like a scraping noise; mine is passenger side. Not the brakes either, so, just before the warranty is up, I am taking it in for a total look see...

Check the caliper bracket bolts. I had this happen on a past vehicle and I didn't check and one actually fell out! I was driving with 1 front caliper bolt missing and 1 loose!

When I had a thudding noise, it turned out to be a frozen RR brake caliper. The rim was too hot to hold a hand to as well after driving.

i did a little reading about the ball joint.... not the issue here.... this is definitely a brake related noise...

AtoB I would bet it's a rotor issue man.. especially if it does it while braking.. They are probably warped.. Just go get it checked somewhere that deals with brakes.. If you replace them I'd recommend getting some Powerslot Rotors and EBC Green Stuff Series 6000 or 7000 brakes..
