Steering wheel lock

Maybe someone finds useful this tip...

My user manual states that only a manual transmission equipped KJ may include a steering wheel lock...

I have an auto, so I'd never tried the directions to lock it... Until one day y left the steering wheel with a 180° rotation (so the word Jeep was upside down)... and voilá... steering wheel locked when I pull out the ignition key...

I agree, TJ, I've not seen a newer vehicle w/o a lock. However, the owner's manual is phrased like Alex said. Here's the quote:

STEERING WHEEL LOCK — IF EQUIPPED
Your vehicle may be equipped with a passive steering
wheel lock (manual transmission only). This lock prevents
steering the vehicle without the ignition key. If the
steering wheel is moved a half turn in either direction
and the key is not in the ignition, the steering wheel will
lock.
