I just put all premium Napa pads front and rear on my 11 Avenger and they work great. Better than the original equipment. Put the rear Napa (premium) rotors on as well as they were vibrating a bit. Front rotor still stock. I drove the heck out of it all summer and fall and all is great, so I have alot of faith in the Napa stuff. On my Jeep I've tried all different brands from Napa to EBC to Raybestos and they all squeak. The EBCs were the best (Greenstuff). Have Raybestos on now and stops great but squeaky. I have an 02 so I've got rear drums. Replaced everything from the lines to the wheel cylinders, shoes and springs and went with Raybests shoes. Rear never squeaks but the front always. As long as it stops I'm happy.

Did you use the premium rotors?

this is the kit:

NAPA AUTO PARTS

part number: NBK 7732AMTSK1

it says OE-Semi-metallic.

what kind of "lube" do i use on the clips?
this might be the problem. when i replaced the brakes the rotors were badly warped and half of the clips were missing (both sides)...
so maybe that is it?
just wheel bearing grease? anything special?

I always use white lithium grease to lube my brakes. Never had squeaky brakes on any vehicle I've owned.

I always use high temp caliper grease. I lube slides and pins and pad ears and anything else that may have to move. Not sure white lithium grease or lube grease would be the best choice for those temps, but if you don't get squeaks then good for you. I've done hundreds of brake jobs and very few squeak. My Jeep does all the time after about 1000 miles. I've even tried to relube things but no luck.

The Napa part you used should be fine. I usually go with ceramic even though not OE. The EBCs were not ceramic and they were fine for a long time. I'll be going back to those when my Raybestos wear out.

ok well grease did it, i got permatex green disc brake grease, put it on the anti rattle clips, where the pad slides, and on the back of the pad where it contacts the caliper. was careful not to get it on the braking surfaces. that cured it!
permatex # 85188
got it at the local parts store
http://www.amazon.com/Permatex-85188-Ultra-Brake-Caliper/dp/B004WJPN2A

supposedly enough for four disc brakes i used just over half on the front, and i have drums in the rear.
