Hey y'all. Long time lurker, recent member. Saying hello. Picked up my new-to-me '02 Liberty Sport about a month or two ago. Before I moved to Montana I had a WJ Grand Cherokee that I loved but left behind. I was originally looking for another WJ out here but had a hell of a time finding one so I ended up picking up this little Libby. So far it's been a pretty fun little rig. Pictured below:

Welcome to the forums. Looks like the 02 Sport is in pretty good condition.
How many miles on it now? Any future mods or upgrades planned for it?
Oh, I see you made other posts in lift section good job!

Thanks! Yeah it's pretty clean! I went through a few rough ones before I found this one and was sold.

It has 149k miles. I do plan on doing an OME lift in the future (keep telling myself the stimulus money ISN'T for truck parts, LOL). Wanna find some of the stock wheels to match the spare since I like them over the 5 spokes that came with it. Don't have too many mods planned for it. Just some mild stuff to give it some more ground clearance for getting to trails and whatnot in the mountains out here.

For now I've just been buttoning up the little stuff. Put a new air filter, set of copper plugs in it, cleaned the throttle body/IAC, replaced the PCV. Still need to do the valve cover gaskets since they're leaking but I might take it to a shop for that one if I can get it done for the right price. Just taking care of those little maintenance pieces so I know they've all been taken care of. It seems to have been pretty well cared for by the previous owner too.

It is great to hear that you already have done maintenance items from plugs to IAC etc.
I think I will need to do my valve cover gaskets in the future too.
If the previous owner did care for the jeep like I know you will, you will have many happy trails ahead!
BTW I like your Jeep in Red, it does look good!
My real Jeep is lifted my other red Jeep needs a lift LOL ;)

Neat looking Jeep! When I ordered my 2002 Export 2.5 CRD here in South Africa in early 2002 I initially chose that red color. But then I saw a Dark Green KJ and changed to that! I planned on retiring early and moving near to the Kruger national Park..which I did!;)
I figured a Dark Green Jeep would suit that envirement better and have no regrets with that decision...love my Jeepy!:)

The early 2002 KJs such as mine came out with Mopar Power Steering Fluid in the steering system...a golden color! A bit later they changed to red ATF +4 for the power steering and sent out a notice for owners to have their system drained and cleaned out and have ATF +4 loaded....no mixing of the two types allowed!
Because I do not trust the Local Jeep Dealers here at all...I have stayed with Mopar Fluid and every few months suck out as much as is possible from the reservoir and fill up again with Mopar Steering Fluid.

Just something worth checking on your 2002 model!;)

Ah a CRD and green! I love that green color they came in. Also, those sound like great life decisions :)

Funny story, I did do a PS fluid flush (turkey baster method) shortly after I purchased it and when I went to suck out the old fluid I found out someone had already switched it over to ATF+4, so had to return the PS fluid and get some ATF+4.
