Just got in a set of new slip on rocker panels for my 2003. I'll be cutting the others out and spot welding the new ones in. Any tips to prevent further rust infestation? I plan on painting the parts inside the vehicle and using bed liner on the outside, fogging oil internally

Plenty of ways to prevent rust. Lots of people rinse their undercarriage frequently when there's salt on the road.
You can also stop the rust with POR-15, then do a nice coat of paint over top or rinoliner. As long as it stays coated, it will significantly help prevent rust.
The key is not having any bare steel.

They came out pretty good, not perfect but way better than what it was, lot's of cutting, grinding and welding. I'll try and post some pix soon

Why are they called slip on if cutting & welding is required to install them ?

drill drain holes and use a cheap spray gun to coat the inside with motor oil.. Maybe that black "miracle" paint instead of oil?

The motor oil idea I've heard a few body shop guys suggest.

Heavy use of epoxy-primer doesn't work though.
