Noticed that the driver's UBJ boot is torn...can't remember if the passenger one is or not. But anyway, is there any warranty on them? They are the ones that came with the JBA UCAs like 3 years ago. I'm not going to bother with a replacement boot, since dirt probably got in the joint. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't leaving money on the table if I order two new ones from JBA (the price there is better than any of the local parts stores)

I was actually just looking at them online...I was under the impression there was a 1 year warranty on joints and bushings. So I think you'll just have to buy replacements.

My ball joints om the JBA arms were torn after a month of having them. I don't know if the ones I got were defective or what, but I haven't replaced them. I just change the grease out alot.

that doesn't fill me with confidence! Is that after street-use only or trail use?

Whoops wrong spot.

My UBJ has been fine since the summer even with off roading. Going to inspect them further when I do my brakes.

A bit of both. Mainly street with moderate trail use. Not there's alot of trail usage, and they are fine. just gotta keep the crap out of them

The boots alone for the 4.5's should be available. Overall they are pretty strong but I think the problem comes from colder weather and stenchin them a bit.
I'm sure Al has spares, however I believe they are a moog K150 or someting like that, off the top of my head.
If someone has the Moog # & post it in here, that would help to get the boots for em locally.

mine jba uca came with the raybestos 500 1062, blue, cone shapped boot. the moog is k6292, black, round looking boot.

id recommend the raybestos. the boot sits better against the knuckle but can tear. the moog boot needs a thick washer or something to hold it up but the boot is thicker and less likely to tear.

I've wheeled mine somewhat hard but nothing that the rest of the KJ couldn't handle.

Not sure why, its a wear item, anything no matter who it is from, who makes it, where you buy it, can wear out, get caught at an odd angle and tear etc.
I had a stick run through on of my CV boots on the right side. Did I complain or blame someone? Nope just bought another CV and kept smiling :icon_lol::icon_lol:

Mightybeet is your Jba UCa's the 4.5 series ?

yeah, 4.5... my passenger side boot had a tear but not sure what caused it. i drove around with it for quite sometime without issue. theres a thread somehwere on here about it. i added more grease every so often. finally replaced it this past summer/fall.

i scratched my head when i first bought the moog since it does really "seal" around the joint. it sits in the parts bag as a just in case
