Just wondering the proper steps I need to take & what part number should I ask for. Do I need to use a 2002 thermostat or are there others I can use to do the job."...??

Do you need the whole procedure ?
Also make sure you put it in the right way with bleed valve up and the whole unit not backwards
HOAT coolant ONLY as well

Don't be surprised if your "Mopar" thermostat also says "Motorad" on it. I recently got one from the dealer and it does, but also has the Chrysler emblem, so I'm hoping it was made to Mopar quality.

Oh ya, drain it, either at the lower hose that you'll be removing for the thermostat or at the radiator drain on drivers side. Some say to crack thermostat bolts loose on a warm engine.

Two bolts hold the housing on, tap the end of each one a few times
They are very small bolts and some have twisted them off
