Stock (likely) 04...

I say likely because there's a KN filter (woop-d-doo), and it 'seems' to look a little taller than another 04 in the parking lot at work. Anyway -

We have some 'rolling', wide/low speed humps nearby and when I scoot over them the front flexes like it should, but the rear kicks like a mule. It's almost violent.

In the ZJ I could sprint over them and it was 'cush-cush'. Now it's 'cush-buWHAM'. It's generally a rough ride, period. Even with four guys after Chinese buffet weighing it down.

(dunno)

Anyone else feel the same about it?

It's a Jeep,try a '43 Willy's,now thats a rough ride.The KJ rides like a Caddy compared to other Jeeps like YJ's,TJ's,and such.

Could try upgrading to OME coils F/R and OME front struts and rear shocks, about the best ride your going to get out of a KJ.

it still should no be that stiff, i have an 04 and the rear doesnt cush as much as the front when going over a bump but never enough to be considered even close to violent. You may want to check your shocks, one could be seized up

Mine was kinda stiff before the lift. New rear shocks would probably help.

OME being one of the best. Rancho is also good.

Mine rode rougher after I fitted the Rancho 9000s onroad, but offroad the thing takes washboard roads like a champ now.

Sounds like there is something wrong in the back end to me. I'm guessing you bought it used?? The prior owner might have changed something. I know it is not a luxury car but it shouldn't be that bad.

First thing you could do is try to test drive another KJ somehow to see if there is a difference in what you are feeling. From there check the shocks. See if you can check the shocks. The only thing I can think of is to try to bounce the back end up and down and see if it keeps bouncing (bad shocks?) Then go from there. See if you can look underneith another KJ and compare rear suspension/lift or no lift.

Yep - used with 26.5 on the clock.

OK - Next oil change will be at the dealer. I'll test-drive another and quiz the mech on shocks.

I have a warranty to use up!!
