Hi all, first post and of course it has to be a question...my bad!! But, I bought my KJ 05 Silver Limited about a month ago, and I am unsure if it has the Trac-Lock rear diff. Is there a way to tell with out opening it up? I plan on doing both diffs today and I want to make sure I don't have to buy the additive for the rear diff. Thanks for you time.

If you've got the VIN number handy, I'd imagine you can check one of Chrysler's or Jeep's websites or call a dealer service rep, and they can tell you whether or not your vehicle was built with an open or limited slip diff - I know you can go to the Jeep website, punch in your VIN number, and it will tell you if there's any open recalls on your vehicle.

If I remember correctly, there's a physical check you can do that involves jacking up the rear of the vehicle, and what happens when you try to spin one tire - but it's been so long since I've dealt with it I can't remember what reactions you're supposed to get that's different between an open and limited slip diff.

There also could be a tag still on corner of the axle (Trac-Lok)
It is just easier to call or get dealer no charge to do a print out from you VIN of options.
Using the 75W-90 GL5 lube with the positrac or limited slip additive will not hurt an open diff. You can buy the GL5 with the limited slip mix already included. Two quarts & you are good to go then.
If you want the Chrysler Limited slip bottle the Chrysler part # 4318060
