paid a cool 2g's and took the new jeep for some pozer shots this weekend, just across from work so if I broke anything I could go get it with the forklift. think I need to soften the leafs for more flex.

I don't want a street legal rig, time to build a trail rig, first the bumper has to be stronger for "phase 2" so I'll call the bumper "phase 1" stock bumper removal was easy, I only had to cut every bolt.

I did'nt get alot done today but theres always tomorow.
custom 1/4" 3x4's bolted to the end of the frame rails, I was going to weld'em cause if I have to remove the bumper I'll have to cut the exo anyways but this should work.

I always wanted to exo a truck and theres not enuf exo build theads, trust me I've been looking.Mounted the bumper today, a little higher than the mock up for a undisclosed reason

I dont know how this will be looked upon, but is my truck. I like the
brush gaurd that was on it. I know brush gaurds are weak but welded
straight to a 8" channel bumper it should stand up, plus I drew up a ton of
front pipe work but could'nt come up with any thing I liked so I cut the
stock bumper mounts, into 8" channel mounts. Also the original idea for
fog lights mounted in the bumper might not happen we'll see.

I bent a stinger, did'nt bend the greatest. My pipe bender does'nt bend
over 100* very good, might have to have it done for me. fun to screw
around though. I dont know how long the final stinger will be this one is
3' long and it is a trail rig so huge isnt an issue for me I sorta like big.
I will start exo this weekend for sure.

Sunday... dam, one piece shy of my goal, looking like a exo'd truck though

I don't know if anyone hase used a pipe bender befor but bending a pipe in
8 diffrent spots and keeping it straight is hard as hell. The pipe that runs
accross the windshield took me most of the morning.

We tied in most of the cage except for the one from the rear of the front
wheel well to the windshield, I have time set aside tuesday for that piece.

Figure if it'll be parked outside for a few days I'd better prime it, with the
rain we've been having I dont need the jeep turning orange, its going to
be hard enuf to paint as it is.

CRAP! the shop was busy tonight so I got no exo done, on the lighter side I went for a ride (haven't gone in a while).
I think the hundred and some pounds the exo and bumper added help keep the wheels on the ground.

Washouts or crevices are my favorite its impossible not to get flex'y

I couldn't get my hinge pins out in a civilized manner, so I cut the pins in half with a cut off saw, then stuck a screwdriver in between the two halfes and pried them appart. One half came out and I could punch the other through. I just replaced them with some clevis pins.

I went crevice hunting after working on my stuck e-brake, WARNING IF BODY DAMAGE MAKES YOU SQUEAMISH LOOK AWAY, no seriously the only photos I got tonight are the ones from the iphone Ill post more pics of the dents and scrapes later

Ya!

The fluid on the ground behind the jeep is not serious unless it happened on the trail, it was the ice water out of the cooler :party52:

other stuff in the works are reworked 4 linked front end, drive line brakes, front axle truss, completed exo, rollcage, hydro assist steering, 5 point harness, major transfer case reworking

sadly the rear will have to stay leaf because of a lack of money... for now but, I will do some work with an anti wrap bar

I do plan a rear four link with 2.0 airshocks but a tube buggy might happen before that, we'll see

the XJ now has Dana 60's, the front axle was moved ahead 7" from stock and the rear was moved back 5". stupid me forgot my camera, so crappy cell phone pics it is... till tomorrow

the front axle was moved 2" or 3" forward by previous owner, I did the rest because the four link calculator told me to, allows for more flex and better approach angles
