I'm in a bind here. No propshaft length measured because I didn't know I needed it so I discarded the thing. I realize now that there are multiple sizes. So here is where I am at. 16.5in propshaft in hand but the rear seal isn't even so it wont seat right on the vehicle. Return process going forward.

When installing the thing it felt way easier to put in than taking out the old one. Possibly because the one I took out was larger. So now that I have this opportunity to ask. What is the right size for the vehicle.

Thanks so Much. ( I called a dealer and they didn't know :help: )

Check with these guys: Driveshaft & CV Joint Components

They deal with all that stuff and sell several different lengths for KJs. Probably need the 19.5". Just a guess.

By the way, they deal with overall length or working distance. I'm assuming you are talking 16.5 weld to weld.

The one you need is determined by the engine, trans, and t-case you have.

We could guess but only have a 50% shot since one we already know doesn't fit.

So your replacement doesn't fit just because the one end doesn't seat fully into the transfer case flange? Is this picture your old one or the one that doesn't fit? The important number is the one above the barcode that looks like 52111596AA. This is an approximately 16.5" weld to weld propshaft. If that was your old one and the new one is the same dimension then it should fit and may only be a bad end. The right side in the image is the tcase end and looks to have an indention. Does the replacement have that too?

Here's an example with measurements: Jeep Liberty KJ Front Driveshaft 29.3" 52111594AA, 52111596AA, 52111506AB

My 02 has the 45rfe and the selec trac tcase and takes the 52111597AA, which is 19" weld to weld.
It is this one: Jeep Liberty Cherokee Front Driveshaft 31.3" 52111597AA

Pic is of the old one. New one won't seat into transfer case flange because the rear seal is off. I will be returning it. Just trying to make sure I order the length correctly. Thanks for all. The help so far
