Hi guys!

So I was just wondering if anybody could help me with figuring out this issue I'm having with my 2006 Jeep Liberty Sport.

Yesterday I was stopped in a driveway and I was waiting for traffic to clear so I could pull out. When I was given the chance to go, I was turning left onto a road and while I was turning left, it was like my car slipped into neutral cause I was pushing really ******* the gas pedal but my car wouldn't speed up. Actually, it was slowing down! I would push and push and push on the gas pedal and I noticed that it wouldn't go past 500-1000 R.P.M.s. I ended up pulling over and I put it in park. A few moments later, I put it back in drive and was able to take off fine.

I wish I could say this was the first time this has been happening but it isn't. It happened about 2 week prior but after a few moments of just letting it do it's thing, I was finally able to take off without a problem.

I just had my car in the shop to get this issue and another issue fixed. Both of which are resolved. (I plan on posting a thread about the other issue next.)

When it was in the shop, they had flushed my transmission fluid and gave it new fluid. But that must've not been the issue since it did it again. I plan on having it brought back on Monday to get it checked out but would like to tell the mechanic any ideas you guys might have.

Thanks for your help in advanced! And if you could, please make the ideas that you might have, write them as simply as you can because I'm a chick and don't know much about cars to begin with.

Do you know if the '06 Jeep Liberty Sport has a recall on it due to this issue? And BTW, the other issue with my car that I was going to post a thread on was about my ESP/Traction control lights being on. So that would all make sense.

No there is not any recall for a ESP issue.

Get the ESP/traction control system fixed and your problem will most likely go away.

ESP/traction control issue limiting engine power from the sounds of it.

Lifted? Good alignment? Seems to be a issue turning left on '06 and '07 KJ's due to ESP activation.

Killed the engine on my 07 after the lift lowered it on the ground started it up turned the wheel to check it out and it died. After the alignment no problems. Used it as a prank with the wife and told her she just broke my Jeep Thanks. I know dirty but I couldn't resist. Yep you guest it, still makes her mad when I bring it up. I still think it's funny.

No lift kit but the alignment might need to be re-adjusted. I'll request of it to be done when I bring it to the mechanics. Thanks for your response!

Have your mechanic prove that he used ATF+4 in the transmission. The wrong fluid certainly wouldn't help your situation.
