Hi guys, just picked up and 02 Liberty 2.4L 5spd and although I got it cheap it's definitely got it's problems right off the bat as I kinda figured...

First and foremost, it's tought to start, runs rough and dies sometimes randomly and now has popped a CEL. P0300 random misfire followed by P0301, P0303 P0304...

Could this be simply the plugs? I seafoamed it just after this all happened and it seemed to run a bit smoother but still the issue at hand after the fact as if the plugs were on their way out I'm sure the seafoam helped that along.

Anyway, so you have to remove the throttle body on this car? Any special things to note? Should it just come right off with those few visible bolts I see removed?

Ok I would recommend changing the plugs first and if you still have problems replace the O2 sensors. Please take my word for this and use ONLY OEM. You will be throwing your money out the window if you don't. But what are you removing the throttle body for? And lastly, it's a Jeep, not a car :buttkick:

The throttle body is directly on top of two plugs, it's the 4 cylinder, not the 6 cylinder like everyone else has.

and yes, it's a jeep :)

Well just went through the change and cleaned the throttle body, and wow oh wow one plug was seized, and it looked possibly original, not sure if it was cross threaded a long time ago and fixed crappily or what, but it took a ton of work getting it out. My god they were fouled to hell too, 3 bosh iridium plugs in poor shape and one OEM plug or terrible shape.

seems to run better already so I'm hoping for the best...
