I have an abundance of Aeroquip stainless steel over braid hoses and fittings in sizes Dash 6 through Dash 16. (Left overs from plumbing my Mini.)

I'd like to remove the factory oil filter and install a take off plate,

and replace with two remote filter heads so I can run larger twin oil filters and effectively increase the oil filtration and oil capacity of the engine. As well as having a Boss to provide for pressure and oil temperature gauges.
I figure that if I remove the factory air box and install an AEM (Quality;)) Cold Air Intake, I should have room to install these.
Or use a Racor Remote Mount LFS Series Cleanable Oil Filters (I have two of these for my Ralley Mini)

If not their, I'll use my imagination and mount them in between the radiator and the grill.:D

I know this is over kill for some, but I am a techno weenie!:D
I would be interested in hearing opinions about this subject.

Cheers

Well, the ones in the top pic, you can use the WITH FILTER right? So maybe you use one of those so you have filtering there at the block, with a standard filter. Then, then hook up one remote for the other filter, where you can then hook up your gage and what not. Would save you some serious time and effort. The largest filter you can use with this engine is the FL-1A, 1qt capacity.

If you are doing this for some cooling effect, just use a small oil cooler somewhere, AFTER the filter.

No, not so much for cooling, I have a couple of Mocal oil coolers and ****** coolers kicking around as well. I figure that when I start towing a 18-20 foot travel trailer next year, I might add one of those to the engine and one for the transmission.
I thought of that, but I like the idea of moving the oil filter altogether so that there is less chance of crushing the filter if I come down ******* something. Even with a skid plate.

Do you have the 3.7L or the crd? If you have the 3.7L and have a skid plate you don't really need to worry about it getting hit. It's only if you have the crd since they mount the crd's oil filter on the bottom.
