Hi all, I’m Nico, I’am new member, I bought my first jeep KJ 2001 with 195k and I’m having a really wired problem, if I park the car under the heat for long time won’t start, not at all, as soon as became night or is cloudy outside, starts like normal...
Do you have any idea what it possibly could be?? I feel I’ve bought a vampire Jeep

cheers
Nico

Welcome to the site!

Sure this is 2001? I have one of the early 2002 Export CRDs....mid May.

I do not have disk brakes at the rear, no ABS and no electric cooling fan....came 6 months later.

Is yours a Gasser or the CRD?
I presume the gassers came out a bit earlier.

Let us know if gasser or CRD as that is important.

Have you tried www.ausjeepoffroad.com
Might be someone near you to give a hand.;)

Thank you, and thanks for your replay, mine is a 2001 limited 3.7l, I’m assuming isn’t a CRD

Jeep Don't like the Heet ! Battery might might not like the Heat either.
Lets "start" with how old is the battery? Are terminals clean & tight?
Use a Voltage ohm meter, what is the battery voltage reading while running when hot, and then also when not running after parked for a while?
Would consider getting battery load tested to prove it's a good battery.

Does it turn over but not fire?

Measure battery voltage while hot and while turning over the engine.

May be fuel lock...try remove fuel cap briefly before starting.

Yeah it does turn over but not fire, as soon as I turn the key for fire, it looks like it just dies, I went this morning after ten days that I didn’t try and it work... but if I leave it under the heat for few hours won’t... I have no idea

As Bill mentioned, see what happens if you remove the gas cap for a minute to help with a possible vapor lock. If you have access to shop air, add some into the tank.
If that's not it, would recommend a fuel pressure test & post back what the fuel psi readings are: key on psi? Key off for 10 minutes psi?

Last time that didn’t start, I’ve unplugged the gas cap for a minute, and close it back, didn’t start than, but after few minutes start... it might be that.. not sure..

My kj was bad with hot starts. Check ECT sensor. Mine was dead as this caused start issues when hot engine or weather.

Terrible idea. Components in the EVAP system can only manage several PSI above atmospheric pressure. Adding shop air to the filler neck will invariably destroy something.
