I'm new to the forum, so please bear with me! My son will be purchasing a new to him 2006 Jeep Liberty in a few weeks. We have one on hold with a friend of mine that has a used car dealership. The only thing he does not like about the jeep is the dash climate control knobs. I've been doing alot of online searching for replacement knobs and have had absolutely no luck. He likes the round knobs vs. the ones that are on it. Anyone know where I can find some new knobs that would be closer to what he would like? He's away at boot camp right now, so I have no way to talk to him about the Jeep. He saw pics of it before he left and liked it other than the knobs (I know, weird :Bye:, but it's what he likes). Thanks!

Oh, and my daughter owns a Jeep also - but she owns a Wrangler. So I'm soon to be a mother of 2 Jeep kids!

Welcome.

All the OEM control knobs on my 05 are round. I didn't know jeep changed them?

Someone with an 06 will have to chime in I guess.

Welcome Mom! Ya done good raising your kids - they're obviously very bright since they both have Jeeps! :happy107:

As for your question...The knobs all have the straight center bar that controls the climate/HVAC system. None that I've ever seen have a center, round knob - not to say there isn't someone somewhere who sells different knobs but that would seem to be a long shot. Not a lot of volume selling aftermarket knobs for the Liberty.

There may be another Chrysler product that has the knobs your son's looking for. Problem is they would have to be the same diameter and attach the same way to the post but with a different center - that also seems like a long shot. It would be like finding a big knob for the radio except for the climate controls.

Like I said, he's obviously a bright guy so let him know that rest of the Liberty's benefits far outweigh the unattractive climate control knobs! ;)

Thanks for the input! Dave, the knobs themselves are round, but they have that little piece in the middle of them. He likes the knobs that are completely round. Thanks for the kudos on my kids - one is a Wrangler girl and in the Army, the boy is going to be a Liberty guy and in the Marines - we have a rule in our house that all the services are important, so we'll have to start a new rule :)

Additional info - my son has been driving a 2000 Ford Ranger, and they look like the same knobs (without having the Liberty right here). I did find some somewhere for the Ranger. I guess I'll have to maybe buy some and see if they will work!
