New Renegade owner

Hello everyone I recently purchased an 02' Renegade with 130K and everything is wonderful on it. It's been garaged and whenever a problem arose the previous owners took care of it right away. Every recall has been done on it as well.

Now maybe they didn't notice it before because they were used to it, or maybe it's just the way the transmission is, but I'm finding it difficult to get into certain gears. N -> 1 seems ok but 1->2 and 2 -> 3 are fairly difficult to get into. All the other gears seem like they are fine. Especially reverse.

Didn't know if this is a common problem, or something that can be easily fixed. Also it's kinda clunky going through those gears.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated right now. Thank you so much.

I am assumeing that we are talking
5 speed?
If so then you may want to change the trans fluid
Could be the problem

Question: are you having trouble shifting it while moving or while stationary? Stationary, it makes sense. If it's difficult while moving, then the syncros may be going out. Are you getting a grinding too? Or just difficult? Quick test would be to double clutch and if that makes it easy, then it's the syncros.

It's at a slow speed. And no there is no grinding noise. Just difficult.

Edit: it's also possible that I'm just not used to the clutch yet.
