My understanding is that you need two of them to program one, correct? Don't quote me on it just food for thought.

PS - what year and do you have a transponder (grey or 05+) key?

To program a (second) key fob yourself, you first need to have a working one. You'll need to go to the dealer to get a single new one programmed. But in your second post, you mention "keypad". So are you talking about a key fob or a door mounted numerical keypad? Oh, and if you do go to the dealer, don't tell them you have an '01 or they might laugh at you. The Liberty was released in the spring of 2001 as a 2002 model.
