So I changed my spark plugs (Autolite Platinums) Saturday... 4 days ago. Next day got a CEL with the code p2311 (ignition Coil 4 Secondary Circuit- Insufficient Ionization). I swapped the ignition coil from cylinder 4 with the one from cylinder 1 and the code went away for a day. While I had the coil off from 4 I checked the plug and it was gaped properly. So anyway, I had a misfire again tonight and the code came back... p2311, coil 4 again. So I think I've ruled out the coil at this point. What else could it be? Bad spark plug? I think I'll switch the spark plug from 4 to 1 and see if the miss follows it to cylinder 1. Thoughts?

I used dielectric grease on the ceramic and on the connection from the wires to the coils, so I think that stuff is probably good.

Aren't you a fountain of positivity!!! Anyway, after a day of misfiring (ugh) I just bought a new spark plug and flat out replaced it last night. Hasn't misfired since and the CEL is gone after having driven enough miles. So looks like just a bad plug unless it comes back... *fingers crossed*
