Mirrors

Hi All

Just bought myself the uk cherokee (liberty) since getting vehecle i have noticed the mirrors will not adjust with the electric 4 way rocker switch, and also the mirrors will not fold in when i press the fold away switch also there is no sound of a motor of any kind. Is this a common fualt with the cherokee/liberty, i have no idea where to start other than look at fuses, i am currently waiting for the hayn es manual for the liberty to arrive, so any advise will be much appreciated.

Well look at the fuse first, then you could look at the voltage on the mirror motor or use a clampmeter and see of any current if the cable is easier to acces.
I think the switch contact will be the easiest place to take measure, see if the switch still work.

Thanks Martin, fuses was my first thought after that i would've been stumped, thanks i'll try your tips.

It is an 04 cherokee 2.5 crd sport (uk), i thought i'd bought the haynes manual
but it only covers the petrol models andnot diesel.

Well the electronics not related to the engine should be the same regardless of fuel requirements. Let me see what i can find and ill post it up for you
