Seriously for cragars... quadratec is the cheapest.... and they have LOW shipping prices. I paid 20 bucks to ship 5 steel cragar wheels.

Just got done e-mailing Q-tec....they're shipping calculations were WAY off!!! they are trying to charge me $879.16 for shipping #-o . Thats got to be a mistake. Hell, thats more than the rims and center caps conbined.....twice. Hopefully they get back to me soon with a REAL shipping quote. Probably has got something to do with my APO address.

Thats just insane, I am thinking about buying a set next week. Shipping for me is $25.

So just to get things straight its the 16x8 5x4.5" with 5" bs, right?

What can I expect to see in terms of additional rubbing witht he wider wheel and different bs.

With 265s do you think it would be better for me to go twith the 16x8 wheel.

I feel like I am thread jacking but I think this should be alright since it is about the cragars.

Summit is cheaper than Q-tech. This is without center caps. Wheels are 16x8 (5x4.5 BP) with 5 inch BS. If you want the 16x7 its going to be a few bucks cheaper per wheel.

Here are the prices:

Summit-
$49.95/wheel x 5 = $249.75
Shipping: $9.75 (U.S) or $23.95 (Foriegn)

Total: $259.50 (U.S)
$273.70 (Foriegn)

Q-Tech-
$48.99/wheel x 5 = $244.95
Shipping: $25.99 (U.S)

Total: $270.94 (U.S)

Not sure on shipping to foriegn countries, but I'm sure it's under $800!!

Savings: $11.44

Shipping to an APO address isnt overseas or a foriegn country.....My address is really in San Fransico Cali., zip is 96202. The military ships it to various bases overseas from there. So I should only have to pay shipping to my zip code.......Q-tec's shipping calculator has got a screw loose !!!!
Havent heard from them yet, but its Sun. in the States and Mon. over here. I should get an e-mail from them tomorrow.

BTW...you guy's got me thinkn'. the 16x8 with 5'' BS with 245/75-16 BFG's mounted shouldnt rub......right??

A 16x8 will probably cause your tire to sink in at the center of the tread a little.

I was only considering it because the 265s are near the limits of a 7" rim. Enough so that I am getting only fair tread wear.

EDIT: Heres the info.

245/75s are 9.6" wide

265/70s are 10.4" wide

The reccommended limit on a 7" rim is no more than 10.5" wide,
hence my consideration. I believe the rule of thumb is to stay within 2" of the rim's limits. So a 16x8 would work well, but with the smaller thread width you would really be better off with the 16x7. Just the same I am within limits on my stock 16x7, but its not doing so well for me.

jfortier777, do you think it would be ok to get the 16x8 with 5"BS and a 245/70/16 tire? Also, do you know what the BS is on a stock 235/65/17 tire and rim? I know they are 17x7.5, but not sure on the BS.

Hmmm...

I think its a safe bet to say that you do not need the 8" rims. The 7" rims would be a near perfect fit with the 245/70.

I am not sure about the BS on your stock 17" rims, but if you are replacing them with 16" that number wont matter anyway.

The standard 16" stock rims are all 5.5" BS

Anyone else, feel free to chime in on this one.
