FIRST POST!!

i know the p0122 is the tps and i will most likely replace it myself but i need a few details on the change.

i read that the sensor has to be tightened to a certain measure. how do i know how tight is too tight for the screws when re installing it.

what is safe to spray on the screws to loosen them up before i remove the sensor. i dont want to strip them and/or damage any electrical connection.

should i clean the throttle body first or just bite it and replace the sensor?

is it possible to clean the harness to avoid breaking a brittle connector with out damaging any electrical components?

am i missing anything? i know it should be simple but i dont want to run into any dumb mistakes and make the change run as smooth as possible.

TPS? I would not stress too much over it, I replaced mine and I just simply unscrewed & screwed the new one in. No spray, no torque wrench, no cleaning.

well i disconnected the battery to reset the code. picked up some techron from napa on the way to the gas pump. the light hasnt come back on and i have had several fluke codes in the past. maybe i will get lucky again this time.

if the tps is bad will driving it for a little while harm anything until i can fix it.

It won't harm anything immediately. But if the tps has gone really bad, it will just cause high rpms and the transmission won't shift up, so you will get stuck with a slower moving jeep. I highly recommend getting the tps and keeping it if the light returns. It is a cheap fix and makes a difference in driving performance. Other problem you might face is low idle rpm, and possible stalling at full stop. My idle rpm was going up and down but it is fixed after tps replacement.

well i finally got the tps changed a couple of days ago, but i still notice hesitations at low speeds. it happens when i am slowing and taking off. i disconnected the battery while i was changing the sensor. is there a relearning period for the computer or do i still have an issue?
