Hello.

Returning disciple here... maybe...

My list has been narrowed down to Jeep KJ V6...or Mitsubishi Shogun (Montero)

Please make my decision for me! :)

...and if anyone wants to come across here and buy my Impreza, I would be much obliged!

(saw a imported 3.7V6 Renegade a few months back, sold before I got to it... bugger!)
We never saw a petrol Renegade, the one we saw was CRD and the later flat front model.
V6 Rennie also only had 2 roof lights as per flat front CRD... what is it with EU models?

KJ for sure, or if you need more room, a Disco 3. Other than that....no options! :D

You're asking whether to buy a KJ, on a KJ forum? Are you expecting un-biased answers? ;)

Did you ask the same question on a Mitsubishi forum too?

Just yankin your chain :D

Oh, and one more vote for the KJ, of course!

I like the Mitsu, but having owned two Misu econo box vehicles...
They are way more costly to repair/replace parts on!
As are things like oil and air filters compared to owning a KJ.
But considering that you are in the UK, that might be the case for owning
a Liberty!

Get the Kj. It will kick the crap out of that other one. I recommend you get an 03 or 04 renny if you can. It's worth getting just for the light bar.

If the Shogun is a first-generation get the Shogun in the interest of saving a few bucks.

Otherwise buy the KJ. The 2nd and later Shogun/Pajero/Montero/whatever is oversized and bloated and just too fat to really work off road.

Actually...
The Mitsu out does the KJ!
Let me put it this way.

You don't see ANY KJ's or KK's racing on any Ralley Raids
(Like the the old Paris Dakar now do you?
Yet you do see Mitsu vehicles!

Ry...those Pajero/Montero/Shoguns are not stock at all :p

And the later Monteros are just too long and low to really do anything off road stock or mildly modified. the first gen is the only useful one :p

If it will be doing most of its driving on-road, then the Mitsubishi, no arguments. It will be much more enjoyable to live with - better-built, more comfortable, better equipment level, better fuel economy and more reliable than the KJ. Sure, parts are expensive but chances are that it won't break as often as a KJ.

(I have a 2005 KJ Limited but I'm under no illusions about it :))

Hi Mark, Nice to see a fellow Brit!! And only 100 miles from me. I luv my KJ but the Shoguns are nice as well, and they will hold their money better over here, especially the diesel ones. Not a big fan of the rattlers but I am not too bothered about saving the planet - Everything mechanical I own drinks more than I do!! Hehe. Either is good in my book. Good kuck selling the Scooby.
