I had to replace my door lock actuator / latch on the drivers door. That was a severe PITA. I've got the repair manual, and I thought I'd be slick and skip a couple of steps. Turns out - you don't get to do that with this job. You end up having to remove the window seal from the door to get the lock and outer handle unhooked from the actuator assembly.

While I was putting the new one in, the clip that holds on the linkage for the outer door handle snapped in half. Old plastic. I had to do some engineering and cinch a zip tie around the linkage to hold it in place. After putting the door back together, I took a look at the old actuator, and I may be able to rob one of the plastic linkage lock clips off of it.

Everything works as it should, and the drivers door now has that nice new car 'thunk' when the door is shut. Feels solid and quiet. The worst part of the job was getting the window seal in / out of the door.
