just put on a lightbar

hi im new here and i just got a lightbar as a present and i had a friend do the drilling and riveting and he used a wierd type of rivets. i couldnt see the label on the box but the rivets looked like umbrellas sort of and the tool he used pulled out the screw in the "umbrella" and it expanded inside of my roof metal and held the lightbar in. i am wondering if this is safe at all, like will in rust out completely this winter. i will post pics soon too. also i have it wired to a autozone cheap a$$ switch, but i have the mopar switch too, ive read other threads about how to wire the switch into my own wiring but it dont work. do i have to have wiring on every stupid prong or is there a way i can just wire a positive, negative, output?

Put a relay in there. The four lights draw too many amps to run through a switch. i installed my own light bar as well and had just a positive ground setup almost burnt my jeep down after about ten minutes of being on.

http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40146 just use the diagram a couple posts down as to wire the relay. A 30a relay and some 14-12 gauge wire is the safest way to wire the light bar without oem harness.

And as for the rivets. They are called Nutsertz its how the bar is moutned on all of our kjs. as long as he primed the holes and sealed the threads and bolt with some silicone sealer you should be good.
