Only way I'd jump into the 4.7 swap was if I had the HO model, and all parts would have to be acquired for less than the value of my KJ... $1500-$2000 or so. It needs to be an easy, cost effective swap to be worth it to me.


HO is only 260hp...08-13 4.7 in Rams was rated at 310hp.

Oh I know... but still, I'd have to acquire the parts from the donor pretty damn cheap to be worth my while, regardless of what it came out of.

Even the older HO at 260hp had a good amount more torque, which honestly is more fun in a smaller vehicle (like the KJ) anyhow. Granted, I certainly would not say no to a 100hp increase either. But that generation of 4.7 is likely to go outside "pretty damn cheap" territory.

And If I'm going to spend thousands and thousands on something like this, I'd rather spend that on a different platform, like a TJ, or just buy a Grand Cherokee.

But that's just me.
