I have put a lot of sweat and some $$ into my 2008 Liberty Sport. It got new gas tank, skid plate, rear suspension arms, brakes, rotors, calipers, rear backing plates, etc, etc, etc. The interior was tired though. I bought a donor with a slightly skipping transmission, and in 3 days pretty much stripped the interior, replaced it to my 2008. I had that light gray interior, spotted and dirty, and now have a charcoal gray,. Swapped the glass from the light tint to the factory deep tint privacy glass(learned a lot about those regulators! Had to swap one of them when the spool fell out, THAT was a 5 hour project!) I tried swapping front seats, but no go since the different generation air bags. SOOOOOO, did pass frt seat first, Stripped the seat to the frame of foam and covers, and reassembled to the 2008 seat. CHALLENGES: the covers on the seat back were a little different, but I made it took. I had to modify the seat headrest parts as 08 were smaller than 2010. That was another 4 hour project. Driver side next week. Rear seat was a snap to swap out. ALL trim panels were easy swap. However still wondering how to switch the pass side air bags cover. The headliner in 2010 was pristine, so it came out and easily too. I GUESS I HAVE A FEW questions:

Will the stock radio that has Sirius swap out directory? I did swap the antenna out that has the two leads?

Pass side air bags cover cover swap…anyone?

After removing teh entire interior, I went to start the donor, nope! The wipers went on, washers starting to spray and yes horn did 2. SO, I still need to jack up and remove gas tank as spare. Luckily I ran it to the low gas light was on.

Will remove driveshaft so I can push it out to the street for a scrapper to take what is left

Will remove 4d switcher motor, frt shaft too.

Fuse panel will come out.

An ambitious 3 days, but done. AND I have a good sized box of nuts, bolts, screws, etc.

Photos to come!

Impressive work! Unfortunately, I don't have any answers for you about the airbags. I have never tried to access them but you should definitely grab them off your donor.

One other recommendation, if you haven't already is to take the turn signal and wiper lever/switches as well as the airbag and clock spring.

Did you know that they put the steering control module in the turn signal switch? Turns out when that goes bad it throws all kinds of codes because the PCM and TCM can't communicate with anything. But having those as spares may save you some day, and they come out super easy.

Looking forward to your pics.

A few pics of a 4 hour strip and a partial install. I am so happy to be rid of the light gray! Hope to finish it upon this weekend. next is the back trim, cargo area, rear flipper window and will tint the fixed rear windows with 35 tint. going to pull the wheels on donor and mount my 235/70R16 studded snows.

Just an update on the interior swap out. down to just the horrible light gray driver seat. headliner was swapped out today. Not too bad at all. FInally in the home stretch…driver seat, roof racks from donor and drop and save gas tank and skid plate and fuse box.
