Jba 6 inch lift

I'm going with the jba 6 lift gold and was wondering what all extra will I need outside of what they have in the 8k package? Also what extra would you do? Running 4.10 in front and back but if I'm going 6 with either 33 17 or 33 18 tires would you gear higher to a 5.30 something?

If you are going 33s then I'd do at least 4.56s, 4.10s won't work too well they barely work for 32s . Depends on where you are ( didn't look:icon_lol:) you may even want to do 4.88s . Thats as low as you can go with the 8.25 and JBAs steel front diff
Pretty much everything is in the 6 inch kit you'll need ( don't forget some bumpstops)

Heres something to think about when going to 6 inch lift or think you want to. Its basically a 4 inch with a cradle drop, so while you may have 6 inches of lift the cradle is basically the same position as the 4 inch ( ground to bottom of diff or skid plate) . So now you can run 33 inch tires, yep a whole 1/2 inch taller . To run those tires you now have to go to the steel front diff with 4.88 gears , so now add that to the purchase price of the 6 inch lift. So is it worth it?
Thats the question you have to ask before making the next step

32"(265/75R16) tires are almost tolerable with 4.10's,4.56's would be perfect.


If it had 275's on it would be a total dog to drive anywhere not to mention shortening the life of the trans and front driveline(CV axles and D30A).It was just dumb luck the original owner did not blow the D30A up running those tires if it ever left pavement.

Jba says 6 inch give you about nine from ground to diff with the right tires I'm trying to get their ebook with their specs

From what I gather lift size means nothing on gears it's tire size and jba makes a good ifs lift with according to them same diff just new gears

I run the JBA adjustable coilover lift with 265-75-16s , also with 4.10s but wish I had 4.56s............soon

Correct tire size determines what gear ratio works best.
You can go 4.10s in the stock diff, after that you have to go to the steel front diff that JBA sells
Best with 4.10s is 245-75-16s

Yea i like the front and it's on the list to buy I'll get that when i do the 6 order. I think about 4.88 or 5.30 but i don't want to go more than maybe 35 17

I am planning on changing out the bottom arms on front with tie rods and such to make up for tire and lift and front diff. I know it'll cost but I think a liberty would look good like that. Plus my son is a quadriplegic and the liberty offers protection so it will cost a lot but for him it's worth it he loves to wheel

Again you can not go 5.30 unless you are switching out front and rear diffs and going SFA
and 35s you're going to need lower than 4.88, forget going that route you'll have an undriveable lawn ornament

nothing out there that can change out the lower controls in front
