Inner tie rod end boot

I just tore the boot that covers the inner tie rod....where can I get a replacement?

MOOG makes replacements found at all parts stores.

I'm only finding the one that goes on the outer tie rod...not the one that goes from the inner tie rod to the steering rack.

I've checked all the local part stores and no one carries them. Someone recommended this tape

The tear is less than a size of a dime, just the size of the tip of the screw driver that went through it. Think that tape will work if I wrap a majority of the boot with it?

There isn't a boot on the outer tie rod :shrug:

That's the one I need I guess.

The outer tie rod has that boot that looks like a ball joint boot where it goes into the knuckle.

Any thoughts on the tape?

I know I should just order the boot...but it likely wouldn't be till next week that it would come in.

Thing is that boot doesn't even look like it's the right one. Looks like just a generic boot. Of course maybe it will still work? :shrug:

My boot has been torn for a while. But I got a new rack.

Maybe if I get to my rack replacement I can send you the good boot off of my old rack. Should hopefully be starting the repair on Sunday.

You need to go to the actual store and ask for them.Looking online is a nightmare and always makes everyone so confused because the pics and descriptions are never right.

That is what they are taught to do,ask for the commercial sales guy(they know more about vehicles) and talk to them.

MOOG makes them,Dorman makes them,and many have house brands.

My passenger side boot on the steering rack is torn.
