Mine is okay when moving but this AZ heat reaching 100F now is not helping.

Mine is cool even with the A/C off. :mexsmoke:

(I need to get a new digital thermometer. The old one finally bit the dust.)

Do the temp probe test first, but yours may need high & low side pressure gauge testing.
At 100F you are expected to see 55F out of the vent as specified above.
Unless you park in the shade or garage, I hate to think what the interior temperatures are to start with. Just getting the jeep cooled down is a real battle indeed.
I am sure many would say if it is just a short drive, it's windows down time, to beat the heat.

I think the ambient temp is so high that when the jeep is idle, the heat exchange via condenser is extremely poor.
I would think that with HD cooling - E-fan and clutch fan, I would have enough air flow even at idle.
Both my fans are working as it should.

Any thoughts on this?

Also I hear a pumping like sound on the PS along the low side refrigerant lines. Is that normal?
The AC compressor was replaced about 2-3 years ago.

I don't have the HD cooling, not so sure how that would help the outer condenser.
As the condenser heats up, my guess says it needs actual airflow, like driving, to keep it cooler.
In those hotter temps, another electrical fan on the condenser would really help I bet!

Got a new digital thermometer and discovered that mine is pumping 40F air at the high fan speed. Turning the fan down to the lowest speed dropped the temperature to 36F. I forgot to put the thing in recirculation mode, so I'll have to remember to do that next time and see how much difference it makes.
