3 inches should not give you any real problems, I have been running 3 plus , actually 4 inches for over 105,000 miles.
I did have to replace my right side at 98,000 on the first lift, since the intermediate shaft and CV got rusted like a lot do which the had to be replaced.
The REELs are better but for 55 bucks I can replace mine several times over compared to those, just saying.....
They are simple to install
Basically remove the lift , spindle nut, pull the spindle off, and the CV out
seal number is 05066066AA
By the way how high are you actually measuring from middle of the wheel to bottom of the flare? If you're over 23.5 then you may need them but I doubt you are.

So I know one is J.E. Reel (has the $100.00 core refund) and one is made by JBA, what is the route to go? JBA makes some outstanding products, so would they be the smart decision? Hmmm.....Obviously I have to get both sides but I just picked the driver side of both

That's a lot of quoting stuff. Basically, buy the $55 shafts, disassemble. find a machine shop that can shave the inner CV cups, reassemble and there you go. Cut down CVs for a fraction of the cost. That's what I did. Cost me two inner boots and pocket change for the time it took the machinist.

Badass! So how much did you shave it down? 3/8"? So I know exactly what is actually getting shaved down (diagram-ish/parts list kinda thing if possible)? That is a much better idea and more my speed...Thank you!

I don't have any pics but basically, shave 3/8 off of the "cup" side of the inner CV, machine a new retaining ring groove and knurl the outside to grip the boot and prevent grease leaking out everywhere. Works great so far. The machinst had a bit of a hard time getting the drivers side into a chuck without damaging the grooves that engage the carrier inside the diff. He managed. He did the cups on his own time between paying jobs. Sometimes it's nice to "know" people. That said, get in with a local off road club. That's what I did and the networking that you can do to get folks to do a labour exchange is pretty cool. Trevor machined my cups, I did some electrical work in his home.

Gotta love the "grey market economy"

Cragar's discontinuing the Soft 8's??

So was talking to A to Z Tire (Amarillo) and they said not to get Cragar Soft 8's because they're discontinuing them, that anything that they have out for sale now is just "what's left on the shelves"

That being said, I was looking at Black Rocks and Allied Soft 8's (they don't have a 16x7, 5x4.5) or the Allied Black Daytona's along with Cooper ST's (LT265/75 - 16, 10ply). So we'll see what gets mounted on her w/in the next week or so... I'm pretty freakin excited!!

Why not get the Soft 8s. Not like you're going to be looking for parts for a wheel! So what if they're going to be discontinued, should be able to get tham at a "clearance" price then right?

Nice! I've been shopping around for that same intake lately. I looked at the K&N but the AEM seems to get better reviews and can't beat the price. How's it working for ya?

It's great! I love the aggressive sound it gives. It's a nice low rumble and doesn't sound ricey in the slightest. It's awesome and isn't bothersome inside either

Throw an ARB on the front and I'd swear you stole my ride. :D

Nice KJ cohipster, now go across the river and see how long you can hold on to it!

You are in El Paso right?

Been to the casino there, good times, good times. On my way through to Los Cruxes (sp?), don't ask why.

Next on the list...

So the Locker fell through, but, I got a set of RRO Insane Arms, Mopar Trans & ****** Skids, and a Rusty's Tank Skid. Should have them all mounted by the weekend, we'll see, took me a minute to figure out how the Hex Rivnuts work (kinda feel dumb, but what're you gonna do). I'll post pics once I have everything on.
