Hi all,

I picked up a used set of running boards for the wife's Lib.
they were a bit rusty, but nothing an afternoon or two with a grinder didn't cure. Now it's time for some fresh paint and I can install them on her libby.

the problem is - I need some new bolts, and these are anything but ordinary.

As you can see, the old ones were too rusty, and a few of them snapped on removal.

They are from the mopar running boards.
I called my local jeep shop - they don't have em and weren't too helpful. So I figured someone out there would be able to help me out.... right?confused2.gif

HELP - without these bolts, I can't bolt the brakets to the frame - and that means I can't use the running boards

Those are M bolts, mostly used on the front factory tow hooks. I thought most of the time, the running boards/rails were held on with "Nutzerts" that were in the frame rails. The nutzerts got through holes in the frame, then are like a rivet as they pull tight up against the inside of the frame to be semi-permanent nuts inside the frame. Tell the dealer you need the M bolts that are used for front tow hooks, maybe they will figure it out from there or go to different dealer. Or see if they carry the nutzerts used on the factory step rails.

Worse case... Get some redi-rod and use the ones you have as a template, use a vise and a torch and heat up the rod and form it to match the old bolts....
