The first time it happened I was certain some of the cables broke. The sound was just like that and I felt the vibration of something going lose.However, both the cables were fine after that. Now it happens every other time I use the handbrake. It holds well though. However, it definitely does not sound right.
Anybody experienced something like that? What could it be?
