These have been recently replaced, you cannot hear the noise after the caravan is unhitched, also it still happens when the brakes are applied.
On mine one of the rear shoes lining came off and spun round in the drum part of the disk, try the handbrake & see if the noise goes. When the brakes were done did you strip and lubricate the slides? It's common for them to corrode up if there don't get serviced, I recommend silicon grease as mineral / copperslip makes the rubber swell and jam too.
Have you had a good look underneath to see if anything is rubbing & as Duderz suggested inspect uj's?
There must be something fairly obvious to make that sort of noise.

Just given the MAP sensor a clean. Whilst out there I had a little look underneath, there’s a bit of a rattle from the front drive shaft and the boots look ok. I did however notice this was loose or bent at the front drivers side by the cvboot. I’ve taken a couple of other photos and there seems a bit of oil on the transmission area? (I believe)

I’m not to sure, is this something the garage would have done? Yes I’ve unloaded some pictures. To be honest I’m not too sure what I was looking at or needed to see or expected to see.

Is that an exhaust heat shield loose? It *could* be contacting a moving part while suspension is squatting.
It’s at the front, it looks like the engine guard that then has a cut out for the CV Boot on the drivers side wheel

So took the Jeep out today, the noise is there without towing anything, not anywhere near as loud. I’ve just check out it sounds rolling back and forth in 2wd part time, 4wd, 4wd lo. And there’s a clicking noise. CV Joint? drive shaft? Could this possibly be the cause of the noise? Could it be the transfer case needing oil change?

Not normal. There should be no lateral play whatsoever. There’s several links to the preferred rebuild parts all over the forum.

Thank you. I’m going to contact the garage tomorrow and get them to have a look at this, and get them to rectify

Check the rear diff A arm, when the bushes (1) wear in the arm, the arm will rub on the body when loaded up causing a grinding sound, could possibly be the centre A arm ball joint (2) has failed as well causing the noise, it happen to mine, noise went away when I repaired the A Arm.

So the garage have rung this morning saying everything I asked them to check is all ok. I drove the vehicle to them last night and heard the grinding whilst coasting in Neutral, but they have said they can’t hear anything. Do I….. take it to another garage and ask them to check? Take it to main dealer? I’m a little unsure on what else to do.

Any suggestions?

A second opinion is not necessarily a bad thing. It is nice that your mechanic didn't take advantage and sell you unnecessary services. Not all mechanics are this way.

Yes they are good. There is a 4x4 specialist which I may take it too

Right. Little update. I’ve just got back from collecting the Jeep from the garage, 5 minutes from home I decided to put it into 4wd and see how it got on. Well……. Aweful. Horrendous clicking, metal popping sounds, car didn’t like it at all? Front CV? Or something else? Would this make a slight grinding noise in 2wd?

Possibly, I don't see why it would make a noise in 2wd though, if you suspect the cv remove the front propshaft and inspect it, you can drive it without the shaft fitted to see if the noise goes.

Yeah this is all something I know nothing about and don’t have the space to do it. Even so the clicking and god awful sound in 4wd having done a search sounds like the driveshaft CV. Just wondering what else it could be that may cause it in 2wd

Just looking around on here, just a thought, could this possibly be a bad serpentine belt bearing? When engine is under more load (towing) could it be coming from here but sounding like it’s from the underside? The AC doesn’t work and seeing a video online of someone else having grinding could it also be one of these?
