"Gas Cap" on dash?

Weirdest thing happened after work today...

I filled up the KJ on Saturday and did some errands. I didn't drive it yesterday. I drove it 55 miles to work today. Left it in the lot. I came out and started it up and it dinged at me a few times. Couldn't figure out what was making it ding, then I looked at the odometer...

"Gas Cap" was flashing on it.

I got out and checked and it was tight. I removed it and put it back on, and it was still flashing the message. Shut the KJ off and started it back up and it was still on and dinging. After driving about 100 yards it went away.

Never knew it'd show something like that, I thought it'd just throw a code. Pretty cool IMO.

Never did it with the KJ, but I know the Durango does it. Pretty cool.

If they put that in the 05's I would be $80 richer today....

Before I learned to check the forums. It threw a code and like anybody who cares about their Jeep, I went directly to the shop. It cost me that much for the dealer to tell me that I had a faulty gas cap!
