So with the bad weather this winter potholes are terrible. I blew the side wall out of a RR tire earlier this year and now I think I have either a ball joint or lower control arm going bad. When at a stop, moving the wheel produces a squeaking noise. There is also a creaking sound when you bounce the LF fender. Pretty confident it is not a power steering issue.

Terrible timing as I am in the middle of a move and have no tools. Inspection underneath (as best as I can) discloses nothing obvious. I can post a video after I get broadband Monday if I need to. I will need to get this to a shop next week and would like to have some clue as to what the issue is.

Thanks all.

First thing is check the sway bar bushings, some like to make noise when it gets cold, remove and clean or just replace easily and cheap.
Next check LBJs , well and upper ones as well
Start there

I bet you broke the upper shock mount...there's a little bushing in the molded rubber. that breaks free and makes a hell of a squeak. I've broken both of mine. Not a safety issue (drove mine for 6 months like that before figuring out what caused it and replaced a ton of other parts).

Does it sound like this?

If it's when turning the wheel, it's a ball joint issue.
