Okay I need some new struts because the idiot who supposedly put Monroe Struts on my Jeep didn't and left the Stock ones on there and the Struts have failed.. What do you guys recommend for new struts because I want to put my Rough Country Lift Kit back on..

Rancho RSX 17505 - I believe Jegs, Carquest, or Advanced Auto may be able to get them

or

I hear the Bilstein HD (yellow/blue) are good.

I'd say so. I think the cheapest I ever really saw them was about $86-$86 each.

They are discontinued, so a little hard to find, but seem to still be out there.

since this thread exists and seems to be resolved, i'll start another subject regarding ranchos and bilsteins..

how do they compare to one another? I'm sure theres a difference, but I don't wanna hurry up and blow money on ranchos because they're discontinued and then be broke, when I can wait and get the same performance from bilsteins and save a bit of money before I go buying them.

I had advance auto parts order a full set of ranchos front and rear for $407 and some change, which I haven't paid for yet. I asked if they had them and he said he can get them in and he went ahead and ordered them.. and I just wanted to know if they COULD get them. after telling him that, he said when they get here on thursday, I can call and tell em to hold em till I can pay for em.

so I don't know. $407 sounds a bit too much- 114 a piece for the 17505's, and 73 a piece for the 17004's..

but the main question.. how do bilsteins compare to the ranchos.. ? kopkrab.gif

Was told by a reliable source that the Rancho 17505s which come in the Frankenlift was a little better quality than the bilsteins with that being said, I am not 100% sure on that because it was here-say and not actual usage..

I think they are comparable, but I can't really say since I've never run either. From my reading before getting the RSX's, I think the Bilsteins are a little more and may be a little stiffer.

$400 is excessive. I got all 4 shipped to my house from Jegs for $311.

I had them price match JBA 17505's for like $86 ea and then the 17004's were already decent at Jegs at about $62 ea. Note that the 17004 is a longer Duango/Dakota rear shock.
