Hi
Just joined kj.
I'm Roger. Fryin in Phoenix. Been Jeepin since the 70's. This 04 KJ Renegade is my 13th JEEP.
Pretty good on maintenance, like to do everything myself.
Hey, my Jeep looks like the middle one at the top of the page, except 2.5" lift and 265/70-16 Michelin LT M&S.
I've had the trans flushed 3 times b4. Now Im' dropping pan and changin filters. Got a pan filter and a spin-on trans filter.
Does anyone know where the spin-on trans filter is located?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks:hmm:
Roger

Welcome!

An '04 has a 42RLE, which doesn't use the spin-on trans filter, just a pan filter.

TX filter

Thx Leeann
Thought I knew my jeep pretty well, never seen a spin on. O'reilly sold me the 2 filters, said all 2004 libertys use them.
What is the best way to tell a 42RLE from a 45RFE ?

Model year 2002 and early 2003 have the 45RFE and use both filters. Anything 2004 and newer only use the pan filters.

Oh, and (welcome)
