I'm debating on if I should get a transmission flush or not. I've heard that this can destroy your transmission.

Should I not get it flushed and just get the fluid and filter changed?

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
If done right and with the correct fluid it will not hurt your transmission unless your at like 200,000miles and never had it done before. Most cases that you here of that a flush destroyed the trans they either A)used the wrong fluid,B)used the wrong machine(yes there are bad flush machines out there), or C) the trans already had a underlying problem already and being cleaned was the final straw.

I'm not sure if the Transmission Fluid has ever been flushed or changed. That's why I'm nervous about doing a flush.

Do it at a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealership and don't worry,if anything happens in 12months/12,000miles of the flush it's covered under a warranty, well worth the extra cost, plus they will use the correct fluid and have the correct machine.

What is the correct fluid for KJs?

Is the +4 synthetic? I've heard rumors KJs required synthetic. I never checked. T?hat would be unusual.
