Well today was the day. Driving home from work Libby let out a nasty clicking/pinging sound that varied dependently with my RPMs. Progressively got worse and worse until it just sounded way to horrible to drive. Had a couple mechanic friends come over and listen, and determined that it was coming from the transmission/torque converter and is likely the flexplate. Anyone had any issues with this or anyone had to replace one? How hard was it or how much did it cost? This is my daily driver and being a full time student, I'm not exactly in the financial position to be throwing money around.

Its an 03 2wd sport with 102XXX miles.
